Inventory Management

How to manage your product catalogue, track stock levels, and get low-stock alerts in invertByte OMS.

Inventory Management

Adding products

Go to Inventory → Products → Add Product.

Fill in:

  • Product name and SKU
  • Selling price and cost price (for profit tracking)
  • Current stock quantity
  • Low-stock threshold — OMS will alert you when stock drops below this

Click Save. The product is now available to assign to orders and will be tracked automatically.

Viewing stock levels

The Inventory → Overview page shows all your products with:

  • Current stock quantity
  • Units sold this month
  • Low-stock warnings (highlighted in amber)
  • Out-of-stock items (highlighted in red)

You can filter by category or search by product name.

Bulk import

To upload many products at once:

  1. Go to Inventory → Import
  2. Download the CSV template
  3. Fill in your products (name, SKU, price, quantity)
  4. Upload the filled file and click Import

OMS validates the file and shows a preview before committing. Any rows with errors are flagged so you can fix them.

Stock adjustments

If stock counts drift (returns, damaged goods, miscounts):

  1. Go to the product and click Adjust Stock
  2. Enter the new quantity and a reason (e.g. "Damaged", "Manual count")
  3. Click Save — the adjustment is logged with a timestamp and your name

Low-stock alerts

Go to Settings → Notifications to configure alerts:

  • Set your default low-stock threshold (can be overridden per product)
  • Enable email or WhatsApp alerts when a product drops below threshold
