Managing Orders
How orders flow through invertByte OMS — from incoming to dispatched — and how to manage them day to day.
Managing Orders
How orders come in
Orders enter invertByte OMS in two ways:
Automatically — When a customer places an order on your connected Shopify, Daraz, or WooCommerce store, it appears in your dashboard within seconds. No manual action needed.
Manually — For phone orders or walk-in customers, go to Orders → New Order, fill in the customer details, add products, and confirm.
Order statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Order received, waiting to be processed |
| Processing | Courier assigned, waybill being generated |
| Ready to Dispatch | Waybill printed, waiting for courier pickup |
| Dispatched | Handed to courier, tracking active |
| Delivered | Confirmed delivered to customer |
| Returned | Courier returned the parcel |
Dispatching an order
For connected couriers with routing rules set up, dispatch is fully automatic. The moment an order comes in:
- OMS applies your routing rules to pick the right courier
- Waybill is generated and sent to your thermal printer
- Customer gets a WhatsApp/SMS with their tracking link
If you want to dispatch manually:
- Open the order from Orders → Pending
- Click Assign Courier and select one
- Click Generate Waybill — it prints automatically
- Click Mark as Dispatched
Bulk dispatch
To dispatch multiple orders at once:
- Go to Orders → Pending Dispatch
- Select orders using the checkboxes
- Click Bulk Dispatch
- OMS assigns couriers and prints all waybills in one go
Managing returns
When a parcel is returned by the courier:
- The order status automatically updates to Returned (if courier tracking is active)
- Or manually open the order and click Mark as Returned
- Go to Inventory to restock the item if it's in sellable condition
